  • Acacia- Wattle

    Tender semi- evergreen shrub. Bright yellow flower clusters in the spring. Best grown in a conservatory or with some protection on south facing wall.

  • Aucuba- Spotted Laurel

    An evergreen low maintenance shrub that forms dense rounded bushes and will thrive in sun or shade and most soils. The variegated require sun to achieve good colour. Male and female flowers appear on different plants in most varieties therefore both sexes should be grown together to produce the vivid red oval berries.

  • Andromeda

    This shrub has amazing evergreen foliage and beautiful flowers in white or pink flowers from early to mid-spring. Perfect for a groundcover or edging, it's a must-have. Plant in full sun to partial shade, and grow a maximum of 45cms tall and 80cms wide, making a very neat and tidy plant.

  • Berberis- Barberry

    A large group of small to large shrubs both evergreen and deciduous. The evergreen species have dark glossy foliage and abundant spring flowers. The deciduous shrubs can have brilliantly coloured autumn foliage.

  • Buddleja- Butterfly Bush

    Nectar rich flowers on long plumes flower all summer long. The colours can range though various shades of mauve and purple, white to orange. All attract butterflies. All thrive in almost any soil and revel in full sun.

  • Ceanothus- Californian Lilac

    Sun loving shrubs. In most species blue flowers appear in late spring. Plants range from ground cover to large shrubs. Generally fast growing, some varieties can be trained against walls.

  • Cytisus- Broom

    These slender upright shrubs are free-flowering deciduous plants with a bushy, dense habit and small green leaves. The Fragrant flowers come is a range of colours but most commonly yellow.

  • Cotinus- Smoke Bush

    Large deciduous Shrub known for its coloured foliage. Flower plumes appear in midsummer that turn grey later giving the plant its common name. Prefers a sunny position.

  • Cotoneaster

    Large group of evergreen or deciduous shrubs and trees, all have white scented flowers in May/June which are followed berries in autumn

  • Deutzia

    Deutzia are hardy deciduous shrubs which are wonderfully easy to grow and most are lime tolerant which is why they are so universally grown in the UK. They prefer a soil with plenty of moisture but are not really that fussy and can thrive in poor soil or exposed locations.

  • Diervilla

    This deciduous shrub flowers in spring, small clusters of trumpet-shaped yellow flowers, which turn a coral colour as they mature, and are magnets for butterflies. This suckering deciduous shrub is tough, and once established will tolerate dry conditions in full sun or partial shade.

  • Drimys- Mountain Pepper

    Drimys is an evergreen shrub with bushy, dark green leaves. Deep crimson red stems which are often cinnamon scented. Flowering in March with lovely clusters of yellow/green flowers with twisted petals followed by dark, glossy berries.

  • Euonymous 'White Spire'

    The upright habit of this evergreen low maintenance shrub means it is fantastic stand alone specimen of planted as a short hedge. The variegated green and cream foliage will offer year round colour, and it tolerates partial shade, great for illuminating areas that may need brightening up.

  • Eriostemon- Waxflower

    Wonderful dense evergreen shrubs with fragrant emerald green foliage and numerous pale pink or white flowers from spring till summer. Can grow to 2m. Eriostemon are best suited to a sheltered position of full sun or part shade.

  • Exocorda- Pearl Bush

    A stunning shrub, a must for all gardeners. Flowering from late spring to early summer, the arching branches of this deciduous shrub are smothered in small white flowers. After flowering, the leaves turn yellow and orange, to prolong the season of interest.

  • Fatsia- Japanese Aralia

    Tropical looking plant that makes a bold statement in the garden. This evergreen shrub can have huge, deeply lobed leaves that can grow to about a foot in width. Can reach a height of 8 to 10 feet but can be easily pruned. Shade tolerant.

  • Ginkgo biloba 'Baldii’

    This is dwarf variety, it’s a useful garden plant because of its dwarf nature and is particularly suited to container growing. The leaves start blue green turning grey green with age and then in the autumn a brilliant golden yellow. This male from is compact growing 10cm to 30cm a year forming a loose sphere. Ultimate height; 2m to 3m.

  • Griselinia

    Griselinia is a great low maintenance evergreen hedging plant. Griselinia prefers well-drained soil and is one of the most suitable species for seaside gardens. Also works well as a back of border shrub.

  • Hamamelis- Witch Hazel

    Hamamelis are deciduous shrubs with rounded foliage in shades of yellow, red and orange during the autumn and winter months.

    Witch hazel water is used externally on sores, bruises, and for skin care.

  • Hebe 'Heartbreaker'

    Hebe 'Heartbreaker' is a small, round, evergreen shrub that forms a neat mound of variegated green and cream leaves that turn vivid pink in colder weather.

  • Hypericum- St. Johns Wart

    This stunning ornamental shrub that makes a beautiful feature in any garden. Attractive bright yellow flowers from May right through to August sit above rich, dark green foliage. Followed by a luscious berry in autumn.

  • Ilex

    Holly is a beautiful and versatile evergreen hedging plant, specimen plant or slow growing tree. It is notable for its distinctive prickly leaves and its bright-red winter berries (on some varieties). This large family includes plants with variegated, gold or silver leaves.

  • Indigofera

    Indigofera are best planted free draining soil. They are best positioned in a sheltered area that receives full sun. Indigofera are well suited to beds and borders within cottage, informal and courtyard garden settings.

  • Kerria

    Kerria is a deciduous spring flowering shrub, perfect for brightening a dark corner or north-facing wall. Plant in sun or partial shade. Thin out old shoots after flowering and propagate by softwood cuttings in summer or by division in autumn.

  • Kolkwitzia

    Low maintenance shrub with graceful arching branches, that produce an abundance of whiteish pink flowers in spring through summer. It's a tough hardy shrub, that’s easy to grow, and thrives well in any free draining soil, including chalk.

  • Lagerstroemia

    Crepe Myrtle makes a sensational summer display. This deciduous shrub is a large family from multi-stemmed shrubs growing up to a metre to small trees. The foliage can be green, to purple to almost black and the flowers can be white, cream, purple or red.

  • Loropetalum

    Chinese fringe flower has profuse clusters of lightly scented, spidery flowers similar to its winter-blooming cousin (Hamamelis). Many varieties have deep purple or burgundy leaves and layered branching habit. Loropetalum blooms in early-mid spring, with occasional re-bloom throughout the growing season.

  • Myrtle

    Evergreen shrubs native to the Mediterranean region means this shrub enjoys a protected warm spot. The small white flowers have a lovely scent. Delightful small shrub.

  • Mahonia

    An easy to grow shrub, with winter colour and berries for the wildlife. Their bright yellow flowers are attractive and some varieties have scented flowers. They look great at the back of a border mixed in with other evergreen shrubs and have the advantage of being fast growing.

  • Nandina- Sacred Bamboo

    A large family of elegant evergreen or semi-evergreen shrubs that looks good in every season. With sprays of tiny white flowers in summer. The berries and foliage remain on the plant throughout winter, giving colour and interest. Birds love the berries.

  • Osmanthus burkwoodi

    Tiny, dark green leaves and small, fragrant, tubular white, scented flowers in April, this evergreen shrub provides year-round interest. Can be clipped for a hedge or left to grow naturally.

  • Potentilla

    Flowering from early June through to first first frosts. This shrub grows only 1 to 3 feet tall making it the perfect mid-border shrub. Potentillas are hardy little shrubs that thrive in colder climes. Fantastic mass planting for low maintanence border.

  • Philadelphus- Mock Orange

    Wonderful easy to grow deciduous shrubs, with flowers in late spring to early summer. The flowers are wonderfully scented. Different varieties grow between 1.2m and 3m. Will grow in most conditions with a preference for sun or partial sun, in any position, sheltered or exposed.
